Abdihamid Nur and Nico Young of Northern Arizona finished fourth and fifth in the men's 5,000 meters at the Sound Running Track Meet at JSerra High in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Nur achieved the collegiate record by clocking 13:06.32, eclipsing the 1978 mark of 13:08.4 established by former Washington State standout Henry Rono. Young elevated to No. 3 in NCAA outdoor history at 13:11.30, both athletes running faster than the program record of 13:13.14 set last year by Luis Grijalva. Nur and Young also earned the World Championships standard.
